Beit Issie Shapiro is well-known as the pioneer and developer of the Snoezelen – controlled multi-therapeutic method, and its use in treating children with developmental disorders and special needs.

Under the auspices of The Trump International Institute of Continuing Education in Developmental Disabilities, Beit Issie Shapiro has guided the setting up of more than 400 Snoezelen rooms across Israel and abroad.

A multi-sensory room is a specially adapted harmonious sensory environment, which dramatically impacts the sense of well-being of people with developmental disabilities, relaxing them, focusing them, and arousing their curiosity and exploration.

Today Snoezelen is being used in therapeutic centers, hospitals, homes for seniors and schools, to treat people with a wide range of sensory and cognitive difficulties, and even burn victims and people with dementia or cancer.
