Mike Stawski: Who are These People? A Profile of Patients and their Families Treated by the Schneider Outpatient Unit for Developmental Psychiatry

2015

Mental health problems in people with intellectual disability are not adequately addressed by generic mental health services in Israel; only two mental services, neither of which are funded by either the government or the sick funds, exist specifically for this group of people. After a brief overview of the subject, this presentation will summarise what is known about the young people who attend the Developmental Psychiatry Outpatient Unit in Schneider Children’s Hospital and explore relationships between patients’ behavioural problems, maternal mental health and family functioning.
