The staff of the Assistive technology Center includes professionals from a number of disciplines including: occupational therapy, speech therapy, education, technology professionals, and more. We are experienced at integrating the use of technology into different environments – schools, therapy sessions, and the home – taking into account the specific needs of the client and in full cooperation with the family.
Yael Elstein
Director of the Assistive Technology Center at Beit Issie Shapiro. Yael has a Masters degree in Technology and Education from Tel Aviv University and over 15 years’ experience in senior marketing roles in the hi-tech industry, mostly with companies that integrate content and technology, including the development and implementation of educational technologies and interactive content.
Noa Nitzan
Occupational Therapist. Noa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies. She has been working at Beit Issie Shapiro since 2005 supervising over the occupational therapy and technology departments in the School for Special Education at Beit Issie Shapiro. She has had a major role in developing the implementation model for the use of tablets at Beit Issie Shapiro, and has many years of experience adapting and integrating the use of technology for therapy and rehabilitation.
Racheli Blum
Speech and Language Pathologist. Racheli has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders. She has been working at Beit Issie Shapiro since 2009. She provides therapy for children with complex disabilities and works to integrate and implement the use of technology in The De Lowe Early Childhood Center.
Dana Cappel
Occupational Therapist. Dana has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology and a second Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from McGill University, Canada. She has been working as an occupational therapist at The Special Education School of Beit Issie Shapiro, since 2010, providing occupational therapy services and promoting the use of technology in the therapy and learning environments.
Orit Grinshtein
Occupational Therapist and Certified Accessibility Specialist. Orit completed her Bachelor’s Degree from Haifa University in 2005. She has been working at The De Lowe Early Intervention Center since 2013. She is an expert in assistive technology and has many years of experience in the adaptation of users’ environments for the use of technology and computers for adults and children.
