Beit Issie Shapiro at the UN

In Beit Issie Shapiro’s capacity as Special Consultant to the United Nations Social and Economic Council, the organization was invited to present in three forums, on three crucial topics at the UN in June 2018. 

At the main session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD), attended by distinguished UN ambassadors from every corner of the globe, Jean Judes, Executive Director, presented the organization’s work on political participation and equal recognition before the law (click to view the presentation).

Jean was also invited to present in two additional side events – one on promoting global access to assistive technology and the second, on the unique challenges faced by women with disabilities, who bear the burden of double stigma (click to view the presentation).
