NAOMI STUCHINER FOUNDER
My late father, Issie Shapiro, had a vision of a society in which all people have equal opportunities for growth, development and for contributing to their communities. His dream was to bring about a change in Israel for people with disabilities. After his sudden death in 1980, my family and I were determined to carry out his deeply felt mission. Thanks to the dedication of our committed supporters and highly-professional staff, I believe that Issie Shapiro’s legacy has been nurtured and developed.
Beit Issie Shapiro has been the forerunner of innovative therapies, changing attitudes in society, initiating legislation to protect the rights of people with disabilities, and is making contributions in the field of research and training that are influencing practice globally. Beit Issie Shapiro represents the field of disabilities in Israel at the United Nations, as well as impacting through partnerships in new technology to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities worldwide.
Many challenges still lie ahead and it is only through the support of committed partners that my father’s dream is indeed becoming a reality.
We invite you to join us on this amazing journey.
