Beit Issie Shapiro is well-known as the pioneer and developer of the Snoezelen – controlled multi-sensory method, and its use in treating children with developmental disorders and disabilities.
Under the auspices of The Trump International Institute of Continuing Education in Developmental Disabilities, Beit Issie Shapiro has guided the setting up of more than 500 Snoezelen rooms across Israel and abroad.
We’re working on making our Snoezelen environments “smart” – tablet-operated rooms which will enable the client and/or therapist to fully control all of the elements of the room using an iPad or iPhone app.
Beit Issie Shapiro has also introduced interactive floor technology into the Snoezelen environment specially adapted for people with developmental disabilities, relaxing them, focusing them, and arousing their curiosity and exploration.
Today Snoezelen is being used in therapeutic centers, hospitals, homes for seniors and schools, to treat people with a wide range of sensory and cognitive difficulties, and even burn victims and people with dementia or cancer.
